BBC’s dark comedy-thriller Boat Story has premiered, and stars Oliver Sheridan (15) in his first cast role.

Boat Story is a six-part series starring Daisy Haggard and Paterson Joseph, written and co-directed by Jack and Harry Williams. It follows the story of Janet and Samuel, two down on their luck strangers who get caught up in an illegal scheme, and become the target of both police scrutiny and masked hitmen. Janet is close to her adopted son Alan, but it becomes a difficult relationship to maintain with the new struggles in their lives. Oliver has a lot of difficult and emotional scenes, as Alan is very intelligent but has a hard time at school with his bullies. 

We had a lot of supporting artists filming for this series last year – Daya Athwal has a featured appearance right at the beginning of the first episode. It’s always really lovely when a big series like this is set and filmed across Yorkshire!

Boat Story is already receiving high praise after premiering on the 19th, and we’re incredibly proud of Oliver for his great performance.
