After its BAFTA nominated first series, The Responder is returning for a second series. Austin Haynes (15) has a great role in this iconic new series!

The Responder premiered on BBC1 in 2022, and was renewed for a second series only a couple of months after due to its high praise. Set in Liverpool, the series stars Martin Freeman as a conflicted police officer, and Adelayo Adedayo as his inexperienced partner. It was nominated for lots of huge awards, including Best Drama Series at the British Academy Television Awards in 2023!

Austin filmed for his role late last year in Liverpool – most recently he had a great role in the feature film Jackdaw, and got to work with George Clooney on The Boys in the Boat. His accent work is brilliant, and so his character on The Responder is perfect for him to show off a Liverpudlian accent!

First look images of Series 2 have been released, and the BBC has confirmed that it will release later this year – we cannot wait to see it!
