Starve Acre is an upcoming horror film starring Matt Smith and Morfydd Clark; three talented Articulate kids have great roles, and Articulate also provided a lot of the Supporting Artists.
Daisy Exley (12) plays Jemma Burnsall. We’re incredibly proud of Daisy for landing her first cast role; she’s worked really hard and made lots of appearances across TV as a supporting artist, including in Channel 5’s All Creatures Great and Small, BBC’s Inside Number 9, and ITV’s Emmerdale.
Matilda Firth (9) plays the younger Burnsall sister. She’s been involved in a lot of exciting projects, including BBC’s Time Series 2, ITV’s Mr Bates vs the Post Office, and Channel 5’s Coma. She was just recently cast in the second series of Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers, after returning from filming a major movie for Universal and Blumhouse!
Rocco Haynes (10) has a small role as ‘Football Kid’. Most recently, he’s been filming alongside his brother Austin on the boxing biopic Giant, which stars Pierce Brosnan. Rocco has worked on a wide range of projects, including commercials for LUFC and the Co-op, and supporting roles in TV series such as Channel 5’s All Creatures Great and Small, ITV’s Emmerdale and a few upcoming projects.
Based on the award-winning book of the same name, Starve Acre follows Matt Smith and Morfydd Clark as a couple in the 1970s who move to the Yorkshire countryside. Their young son starts acting strangely, and a sudden tragic event drives a wedge between the couple. Director Daniel Kokotajlo said that his aim was to “create a mood of nervousness” and that the film “taps into a timeless fear”. Starve Acre will be coming to cinemas on the 6th of September.
