Coma is a new four-part drama series from Channel 5 and produced by Roughcut TV, starring Jason Watkins as Simon and Claire Skinner as his wife Beth. Their young daughter Sophie is played by Articulate’s Matilda Firth (9).
Matilda flew over to Budapest last year to film, and had a great time. She loved exploring the city and living there for the duration of the shoot. This was just after she filmed for BBC’s Time series 2, where she plays the daughter of Jodie Whittaker’s character. She then reprised her role as Grace in Channel 4’s comedy Hullraisers, and filmed for ITV’s Mr Bates vs The Post Office (alongside her brother Tom Firth).
Here is the synopsis from Roughcut TV: ‘Simon, a devoted family man, finds himself at a breaking point as his neighbourhood falls victim to the terrorising antics of a group of teenagers, led by the menacing 17-year-old Jordan Franklin. Simon and his wife, Beth, are desperate to move their young daughter to a safer area away from the threatening atmosphere, but when Simon’s frustration reaches its peak and he confronts Jordan outside his own home, a split-second decision changes everything.’
Coma was written and created by Ben Edwards, co-created by Alex Smith and directed by Michael Samuels. It will premiere on Channel 5 on Monday 18th March at 9pm, and will be available to stream on My5.
