Articulate’s Mattea Cooper (8) will play Constance in the month-long return of Standing at The Sky’s Edge at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, and starts rehearsals this week. Mattea auditioned on Friday after our office suggested she go for it, and a few hours later, she was cast – all on the same day!

Debuting in 2019, Standing at The Sky’s Edge is an award-winning celebration of strength and solidarity. The musical begins in 1961 and tells the story of three families over sixty years living in Park Hill, a council housing estate in Sheffield. It is named after the 2012 album by Richard Hawley, and features new and old songs from him.

Mattea is no newcomer to acting – she was busy filming earlier this year for Milkshake’s The World According to Grandpa where she plays new lead character Lily, and she has been in a wide range of commercials.

Standing at The Sky’s Edge will be showing from Saturday 10th December 2022 to Saturday 21st January 2023 – make sure to catch it while Mattea is in it!
