Articulate’s Mazie McDonagh, Dexter Hughes, Tilly Kay, Owen Phillips, Austin Haynes, Hattie Edkins and Elizabeth Tobin reprise roles for Gentleman Jack season two.
Gentleman Jack, a period drama set in the 1800s, follows the feisty figure of aristocratic diarist, mountaineer, political trailblazer, industrialist and world traveller Anne Lister, known in her own lifetime primarily as “Gentleman Jack” or, simply, ”Jack” owing to a muscular, masculine appearance. The critically acclaimed show first aired on May the 19th 2019, featuring several Articulate cast kids and lots of Articulate support artists; it quickly received high praise.
Mazie McDonagh (13) plays Charlotte Booth, daughter of servant John Booth who lives on the Shibden Estate.
Dexter Hughes (12) taking the role of Henry Hardcastle, a young lad who in the last series unfortunately lost his leg in an accident with a horse and cart.
Tilly Kaye (10) is back playing Amy Sowden who’s brother brutally killed her father in series 1.
Owen Phillips (10) will play Sackville Sutherland, son of the wealthy Captain and Lady Sutherland.
Austin Haynes (13) shoots as Billy Hardcastle (previously played by his little brother Rocco Haynes who unfortunately couldn’t shoot series 2).
There’s also Hattie Edkins (14) and Elizabeth Tobin (10) taking small speaking roles in a fabulous scene with Suranne Jones & Sophie Rundle.
Filming for series 2 of Gentleman Jack took place across Yorkshire, with much of the filming taking place at the Shibden estate in Halifax.
We will look forward to seeing the new series in 2022 and spotting lots of our talented young actors once again.
