The trailer has just been released for Sky’s new family movie Robin and the Hoods. Marni Moore (11) has a cast role alongside a huge group of Articulate supporting artists. Our kids and adults had great fun last summer filming in fantastical costumes, learning choreographed battles and gaining valuable on-set experience.
The movie is a family comedy, inspired by the tales of Robin Hood. Darcey Ewart is the 11 year old Robin – she and her friends from the neighbourhood (made up of Articulate kids!) play fantasy games in the local woods and green area. The film follows the Hoods as they defend their beloved Kingdom from being turned into a leisure facility. The movie also stars some huge names: Mark Williams as The Mayor, Gwendoline Christie as a hippy in the forest the kids imagine to be a witch, and Naomie Harris as the antagonistic property developer Clipboard. It’s always amazing to see our kids work alongside such well-established actors!
Filming took place in Yorkshire, with Sky prioritising sustainability and keeping green spaces alive in mind, keeping in line with the message of the film. 50 percent of costumes were hired and reused from other productions, while other costumes were gathered from local charity shops – the prop swords and other weapons were created with recycled materials and sticks.
Robin and the Hoods is set to release this summer – we’re all incredibly excited to see Marni in her first cast role, and to spot all our brilliant supporting artists!
