Join our commercial-based workshop with the Casting Director, Nicci Topping, this October!
Often, kids are told there is ‘nothing to prepare’ at a commercial audition but find there is lots of impromptu work when they get there. Or, alternatively, you're sent a big storyboard and told to just 'act it / follow the direction' in your tape...without a script! This workshop will aim to answer questions/cover topics such as:

What does a commercial casting look like?

You have 5 minutes in the room - how do you make the most of this and ensure you are really memorable?

How do self-tapes for commercials differ from self-tapes for TV?

How to do a good tape when there's no script and how to approach those castings.

Do Casting Directors like the really upbeat intros or do you prefer the ident to be relaxed and natural?

How can I prepare for a commercial casting?
This will be a high-energy, hands-on session where the kids will do some improvisation, a mock commercial audition, and get personal feedback from Nicci about their performance. It'll be fun, challenging and there will be a lot of on-the-spot drama!
Nicci has worked in the industry for over 20 years and has cast for some amazing projects including: Disneyland, John Lewis, and the BBC! Many of you will recognise her name as you regularly submit tapes for her.
